Norton Fire Department welcomes back FF Barry
The Norton Fire Department would like to welcome back Firefighter Katie Barry from her deployment with the FEMA Massachusetts Task force. This team has been in North Carolina since late September to assist the the residents with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Job well done Katie!
Norton Firefighter Completes Ma Fire Academy
FF Joshua DiCicco completed the MA Fire Academy on September 20th. FF DiCicco is currently in Paramedic school and will be assigned to Group 4. The Norton Fire Department congratulates FF DiCicco on this important accomplishment. We all want to welcome him back and wish him a long and safe career on the Norton Fire Department.
Norton Fire Department Promotion
FF Nicholas Dyer has been promoted to Lieutenant for the Norton Fire Department. Lt. Dyer has been on the department since 2014 and is married with 4 children. Lt. Dyer is the Assistant Mechanic and a Fire Alarm Technician. Lt. Dyer comes from a family of firefighters and health care providers including his father who is the retired Fire Chief in Braintree Ma. We wish Lt. Dyer a safe and long career at the Norton Fire Department.

Norton Fire Department LT. Robert Crowley Retires After 28 + Years.
The Norton Fire Department announces the Retirement of Lieutenant Robert Crowley on September 2, 2024 after 28 + years on the Norton Fire Department. Among some of Lt. Crowley’s accomplishments were overseeing the SAFE program which included adding the first and only SAFE Van to the program which was used to promote fire safety in the Norton School system for many years. Lt. Crowley also oversaw the Fire Department Honor Guard and was the Senior Lt. at Station 1 in Chartley. As a senior Lt, he was in charge of the station’s upkeep and maintenance and worked with other members to make that station look top notch throughout the year. Please join the Norton Fire Department in thanking Lt. Crowley for his service to the Town of Norton, its citizens, and the department. The Norton Fire Department wishes Lt. Crowley a long and healthy retirement.

On behalf of Chief Simmons, Deputy Robbins and Deputy Wilson we would like to wish all the EMS providers on the Norton Fire Department a Happy EMS Week. Your professionalism, dedication and care is shown on a daily basis. You are all part of one of the best EMS systems in the State and should be proud of the work you do every day. Please take a moment this week and reflect on the difference you all make every day for the residents of Norton and the surrounding communities. Also remember past EMS Providers of the Norton Fire Department that helped make the EMS system the success it is today.
